La mostra, dedicata ad uno dei maestri dell’architettura contemporanea latinoamericana, illustra attraverso l’obiettivo del fotografo giapponese Yoshihiro Asada, la “semplice complessità” dell’opera di Eladio Dieste.
Curata da Stanford Anderson direttore del Dipartimento di Architettura del MIT-Massachusetts Institute of Technology, la mostra è figlia di un precedente lavoro dello stesso, l’esposizione Eladio Dieste, a principled builder, tenutasi a Boston nel 2003. Anderson è anche autore di una apprezzata monografia su Dieste e di numerosi convegni internazionali negli Usa e in America Latina. Read the rest of this entry »
FROM the outside, the Tugendhat House doesn’t look like one of the most important residential buildings of the 20th century: it’s just two white stucco cubes separated by an opening through which a few spiky treetops protrude. But as a tour guide led a group of 10 through this modern home in the Czech Republic’s second-largest city in early March, it was clear that there was much more to the house, the bulk of which is built on the steep hillside that drops away from the street.
